Situation IIT's distinctive campus on Chicago's South side is a veritable temple to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who served as the university's dean of architecture from 1938 to 1958. Always innovative, always multifaceted (the university's undergraduate divisions range from engineering to psychology to letters and sciences to architecture), and always competing in a heavily public flagship environment, IIT's admissions communications must break through with precision, nuance, and substance—preferably with a truly Mies-ian "less is more" sensibility.

Results After the rollout of the new admission program in spring 2006, IIT has seen a surge in inquiries, applications, and the number of first-year students; the university is preparing to welcome its largest entering freshmen class in decades in fall 2007. The new print and online projects have received acclaim from students, faculty, parents, and alumni alike, many of whom have commented that the work truly reflects the IIT student experience and essence of the university. The Admissions Marketing Report awarded the Early Inquiry Viewbook "Best in Show" in 2007.
